Medster 2000

After 25 years in the hospital sector and experience of the problems connected to it, Biomedical has carried out in-depth research into the field of disinfection aimed at bringing an innovative disinfecting and decontaminating formula called Medster2000 into the market.

It is a powder-based system, to be diluted in water, releasing peracetic acid, citric acid and hydrogen peroxide in a controlled manner which is therefore stable over time.

The product acts much more quickly that its binary system rivals. It has no toxic or sensitising effect, nor is it corrosive. It is pH neutral and totally biodegradable.

Packaged in practical single-dose, vacuum-packed sachets, it has considerable logistic advantages and is easy to use.

Formulated to combat hospital infections and particularly suitable in the fight against emerging bacteria characterised by high levels of resistance such as MRSA and pseudomonas aeruginosa, it has passed the ISPESL (Italian National Institute for Occupational Safety and Prevention) tests which have classified it as an appropriate collective safety measure against infective agents characterising the biological hospital risk pursuant to Title X of the Italian legislative decree 81/2008.

Its microbiological effectiveness is, in fact, supported by experiments conducted in compliance with the technical regulations of the sector imposed by the CEN for the implementation of the provisions of the EC directive 54/2000/EC (EN13727:2003 and EN14561:2006 for bactericidal activity; EN13624:2003 and EN14562:2006 for fungicidal activity; EN14348:2005 and AFNORN, FT72-190; 1988 for microbactericidal activity; EN 13704 – February 2002 and AFNORN, FT72-190; 1988 for sporadic activity; EN 14476:2005 for virucidal activity. Specific tests were carried out in order to check the effectiveness against the specific HIV, HBV and HCV viruses). It therefore represents the state of the art in the field of disinfection from the viewpoint of the technical and scientific knowledge acquired.

Biomedical’s responsiveness to the problems of biological risk in a sanitary environment and the urgent need to be able to eliminate the risk of infections which can be transmitted through the air are leading it to increase its research sector fine tuning a monitored system for environmental sanitisation through collaboration with companies which deal with air decontamination and the disinfection/sterilisation of surfaces and medical/surgical devices.
